01 Error codes
Boot codes and how to fix each one
Boot codes
- 0x00 — DVR has rebooted normally: routine maintenance reboot or a user reboot.
- 0x01 — Abnormal reboot: power loss, system crash, or other undefined abnormality.
- 0x02 — Log stuck.
- 0x03 — Hard drive read-write slow: read-write speed has dropped significantly, or capacity has seriously decreased.
- 0x04 — Abnormal recording: over 3 minutes with no stream on the recording channel.
- 0x05 — Bad track: the hard drive has a bad track.
Troubleshooting
- 0x00 — Check Settings > System > Auto Maintain to confirm the DVR isn't scheduled to reboot.
- 0x01 — Hardest one to diagnose. Update firmware to the latest version, hard reset the DVR, and confirm it's getting consistent power.
- 0x02 — Clear the log: Information > Log > Clear.
- 0x03 — Check Settings > Storage > HDD Manage. If status isn't "Normal", the drive likely needs replacing.
- 0x04 — Check all camera connections and confirm they're powered correctly.
- 0x05 — Check Settings > Storage > HDD Manage. If status isn't "Normal", the drive likely needs replacing.

When installing ANPR cameras, mounting height and camera angle matter. If the camera sits too high, or the horizontal or vertical angle is too great, recognition accuracy drops. Use the recommended mounting height and angle references below.

Installation
Connect all devices together before configuring. The ITC237-PU1A-IRHL supports PoE (802.3at) or 12V DC power.
Power and network terminals

- 12V — used when not relying on PoE; connect 12V positive here and link to the camera body terminals.
- GND — negative connection terminal when using 12V power.
- LAN — connection to the network switch or NVR PoE port.
- POE — PoE connection to the camera body.
Alarm terminals

- Reset — restores the camera to factory settings.
- G — ground connection for alarm inputs.
- L1/L2 — alarm inputs 1 and 2, used to trigger a snapshot independently.
- NO — normally-open alarm output, used to trigger external devices such as barriers.
- C — common terminal used with the NO terminal.
Configuration
Once mounted and wired, connect a PC to the same switch and log in through a web browser. The default IP is 192.168.1.108 (changeable via Config Tool or the camera's web interface). Default login is username admin, password admin123. When connecting to an NVR, use the correct credentials in the remote device menu — wrong credentials will lock the camera until it's rebooted with the correct ones.

After logging in, the live view appears. Select Install to configure the lens and recognition settings.

The camera has built-in electric back focus, adjustable from the web browser after an initial manual focus. Use the AutoFocus button for this.

Select Region, then Redraw, and use the left mouse button to draw the detection area vehicles will pass through.

Select Detect Line, then Redraw, to draw the line that sets the recognition trigger point. Set Local Plate to the desired group — EU is recommended — then Save. Go to Setup > ITC > Intelligent.

The confidence filter sets detection sensitivity — too high and events may be missed, too low and false events may occur. Recommended setting is 70. Save, then go to Setup > ITC > Snap Cutout.

Enable SnapCutoutEnable and save. Then go to Setup > Storage > Destination.

Select Format to format the SD card. Once complete, it's ready for use. Back on the live tab, select Receive Pictures — this is only needed when monitoring events via the web interface; it's not required when used with an NVR608/616 or as an unmonitored standalone system.

When a vehicle passes through the detect zone, the snapshot and plate information appear. Double-click an event entry to download its snapshot.
Whitelist setup
To trigger the alarm output when a pre-configured plate is detected:

Go to Setup > ITC > BW List, enable it, and enable Start Match.

Open White List Search and click Add to enter a plate into the whitelist database.

- Plate Number — enter in capital letters.
- Start Time — date the plate becomes active on the whitelist.
- End Time — date the plate is disabled on the whitelist.
- Master of Car — vehicle owner's name.
- Gate Mode — whether the vehicle should be allowed access. Click OK to save.
Open Link Sign Out to set when and for how long the alarm output triggers.

Enable the alarm output. There are three modes:
- Traffic Trust List — trigger based on the whitelist.
- All Snap Car — trigger for every vehicle.
- Order — trigger via computer software (currently unavailable).
Use Hand On to manually trigger the alarm output for testing external devices.
IR LED adjustment
The built-in IR LEDs can be tuned for intensity from Setup > ITC > Extra Device > Light (485) Config.

- Work Mode — manual or automatic IR control; Auto is recommended.
- Light Brightness — IR light intensity.
- Light Arr Mask — selects which LED arrays are active (six LEDs in three pairs); all arrays are selected by default.
- Auto Mode — turn IR on/off by LUX level or by a timed schedule.
- Prevalue — the LUX level at which LEDs turn on/off (only applies when Auto Mode is set to Brightness).
Select Save to store the settings.

08 SMD
Smart motion detection, human and vehicle targets
Setup steps
- Right-click and log in to the recorder. Go to Main Menu > AI > Parameters > SMD.
- Choose the channel number.
- Select AI by camera if available.
- Click Enable.
- Sensitivity — Low, Medium or High.
- Effective Target — Human, Vehicle.
If available, you can also enable camera audio (siren) and/or a warning light to trigger on motion detected.
